Salem is famous for the horrendous treatment of the innocents accused of witchcraft in the late 1600’s. Although there was later an apology and a vindication by those not so inclined to believe in murderous religious nonsense. We should look closely at our own era of conspiracy theories and contemplate the worst.
However, there are other parts of Salem that are still stunningly impressive like the McIntire Historic District. Take some time away from the touristy bits and appreciate the beautiful and well kept mansions on Chestnut and Essex streets.
