Just a quick business trip to India included visiting the center of Bollywood in Mumbai and dinner with AR Rahman at his amazing recording studio in Chennai.

I hired a car and driver in both cities to take advantage of a free half day. Memorable encounters included a family selling ink stamps on the beach, a little girl trying to fish my iPhone out of my pocket, the Christian driver that just wanted to take me to churches and talked of the ugly, hidden side of Hindu Nationalism.

The heat, the traffic, the extreme poverty — it’s all true. The people, the food, the colors make it all worth visiting again.
